Follow these few simply steps to make your Patio Gardening a summer-long success:
- Refer to the distinctive Kanaka Label for Care and Handling information
- Place in a full sun to semi-shaded location
- Water daily during hot weather and keep the soil moist at all times. They dry out quickly!
- From May to September, fertilize weekly with a flowering plant food, or monthly with slow release fertilizer
- It is strongly recommended to transplant into a larger pot, or directly into the soil
- Remove the old blooms to promote continuous flowering
- Lightly prune long shoots twice per month to maintain a compact appearance
- In the fall, prune shoots back to half their size, and place the plant in a light, dry location between 5 and 10 degrees
- Keep the soil almost dry, then replant or return to your patio in the spring
- Keep your plant frost free (Zone 10B, 2 degrees (36 Fahrenheit).
